Defendant Mike Angel Maldonado was charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of Ricardo Hernandez. Defendant's first trial ended in a hung jury. Defendant was then tried by another jury and convicted. The jury also found that defendant personally discharged a firearm that proximately caused the death of Hernandez. Defendant was sentenced to 60 years in prison, 35 years for the murder charge and a mandatory...
