The defendant, Jose L. Sanchez, was convicted of aggravated battery with a firearm (720 ILCS 5/12-4.2(a)(2) (West 2004)) in case No. 05-CF-1512. The defendant was also convicted of aggravated discharge of a firearm (720 ILCS 5/24-1.2(a)(2) (West 2006)) and unlawful possession of a firearm (720 ILCS 5/24-3.1(a)(2) (West 2006)) in case No. 06-CF-829.
