Plaintiffs, Carrie and Kevin Strickland (Kevin S.), filed a three-count complaint against defendants, Janet and Kevin Kotecki (Kevin K.), for injuries Kevin S. sustained when he jumped over a fence to stop Kevin K. from committing suicide. Defendants filed a motion to dismiss, pursuant to section 2-615 of the Illinois Code of Civil Procedure (Code) (735 ILCS 2-615 (West 2006)). The trial court granted the motion....
