Justice HOFFMAN delivered the opinion of the court:

The plaintiff, Erik Jaason, appeals from an order of the circuit court which found that his legal malpractice action against the defendants, Barbara J. Sullivan and B.J. Sullivan & Associates, is time barred and dismissed the action on that basis. For the reasons which follow, we reverse the dismissal of the plaintiff's action and remand the matter to the circuit court for further proceedings.
