The plaintiff, Sharon Wildey, filed a lawsuit for legal malpractice against the defendant, Mary Paulsen, in the circuit court of Cook County. Wildey argued that Paulsen's legal malpractice caused the reversal of a $178,000 judgment in favor of Wildey and against Wildey's former fiancé.
