Following a jury trial, Tye Root was convicted of delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) in violation of Iowa Code section 124.401(1)(b)(7) (2007). Root appeals and asserts the district court applied the wrong standard in ruling on his motion for a new trial.1 "We review for errors at law [a defendant's] claim that the district court failed to apply the proper standard in ruling on the motion for new trial." ...
