The defendant appeals his conviction for theft in the second degree. In his sole allegation of error, the defendant asserts that the district court erred in refusing to extend the deadline for filing pretrial motions and notices of affirmative defenses. He argues that the denial effectively prevented him from raising a diminished responsibility defense. The court of appeals affirmed his conviction.
