WIGGINS, Justice.

The police brought a suspect to the police station for questioning. The suspect spoke little or no English. After signing a Spanish-language "voluntary waiver of rights," he stated he did not understand his rights. Then a Spanish-speaking officer read the suspect a Spanish Miranda advisory. The suspect waived his rights and confessed to inappropriate contact with a child. The State charged the suspect
