The plaintiffs in this case are Dr. Carl Shenkman and corporate entities owned solely by him.1 The defendant, Ms. Maria Hiller, was formerly married to Shenkman and worked for his medical practice. The plaintiffs sued Hiller to recover funds allegedly stolen by her in 2006 and 2007 through the use of forgeries and other fraudulent conduct.
