The trial court granted Phillip Pickett's motion to dismiss his indictment on the ground that the State had violated his constitutional right to a speedy trial. The Court of Appeals affirmed, State v. Pickett, 301 Ga.App. 251, 687 S.E.2d 239 (2009), and we granted certiorari to consider its ruling. For the reasons that follow, we reverse the Court of Appeals with the direction that the case be remanded...
