James Hawes initially pled guilty to enticing a minor for indecent purposes, statutory rape, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Pursuant to a plea agreement, he received a five-year sentence, with special conditions, and a fine. Following a habeas petition, however, Hawes was allowed to revoke his guilty plea and his sentence was vacated. Hawes was then tried before a jury and found guilty of all three counts.
