Paul Hampton was convicted on one count each of kidnapping and aggravated sodomy and on two counts of aggravated sexual battery. As a recidivist offender, he was given mandatory sentences of life imprisonment without possibility of parole under OCGA § 17-10-7(b). Following the denial of his motion for new trial, he appeals.
