PER CURIAM.

A juvenile petitioned this court for a writ of habeas corpus seeking release from secure detention prior to an adjudicatory hearing. See § 985.26(2), Fla. Stat. (2012) (permitting a court to continue detention for up to 21 days pending an adjudicatory hearing). We granted the petition by order and this opinion follows.
