The State of Florida challenges the trial court's order granting the suppression of a statement made to law enforcement officers by Gonzalo Rafael Venegas after he was taken into custody on suspicion of second-degree murder. Venegas cross-appeals the trial court's denial of his motion to suppress a knife that was located using information obtained during that same custodial interrogation.
