When appellant Cephus Wade appeared for trial on various criminal charges, he sought to discharge his lawyer and represent himself. After appropriate inquiries by the court, including the court's admonition that it would not grant a continuance if Wade decided to represent himself, appellant discharged the lawyer and then asked for a continuance to prepare for trial.
