WALLACE, Judge.

Robert E. Conner was found guilty by a jury of attempted first-degree murder, §§ 777.04(1), 782.04(1)(a), Fla. Stat. (1997), and kidnapping, § 787.01, Fla. Stat. (1997). The trial court adjudged him to be guilty of both crimes and sentenced him to serve twenty-five years in prison on the attempted murder charge and life in prison on the kidnapping charge. The sentences were designated to run consecutively.1
