On May 1, 2012, William Schultz retired at age 55 as a member of the Laborer's Union Local 113 and participant in the Building Trades United Pension Trust Fund Plan (the Plan). This action relates to the Plan's denial of Schultz's post-retirement application for total disability benefits (TDB). Schultz's application, if successful, would have resulted in him receiving a full retirement benefit.
