Nearly seven years ago, Barry William Gewin was tried and convicted in this Court in connection with his role in the manipulation and fraudulent trading of securities in a so-called "pump and dump scheme." Mr. Gewin was sentenced to 108 months' incarceration and three years' supervised release, and was ordered to pay substantial criminal monetary penalties, including a fine and restitution.
