This case arises from the arrest and the unsuccessful prosecution of the Plaintiff, Scott Sutherland, who had been charged with having committed two murders and one attempted murder. Following his acquittal by a jury of these very serious criminal offenses, Sutherland filed this lawsuit in which he has accused all of the Defendants of violating his federal and state constitutional rights.
