After committing armed robbery with an unidentified accomplice, Richard Lavar Carter pled guilty to Hobbs Act robbery and a firearm charge pursuant to an agreement with the government. At sentencing, the district court warned that Carter's decision to name his accomplice would be a "critical part" of its sentencing determination...
