This appeal requires us to decide whether a federal prisoner who directly appeals a resentencing may raise new arguments unrelated to the errors corrected at the resentencing. Ricky Haynes, a federal prisoner, filed a motion to vacate his sentence, 28 U.S.C. § 2255, which the district court granted in part because his sentence for possession of a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon, 18 U.S.C. § 922(g), exceeded the 10-year statutory...
