Over four thousand Colombians brought actions against Appellant Chiquita Brands International, Inc., and Chiquita Fresh North LLC (collectively, "Chiquita"), alleging claims involving torture, personal injury, and death under the Torture Victims Protection Act and the Alien Tort Statute.
