PREFACE

In today's case (more procedurally complicated than substantively complex), a district judge issued an order requiring Chartis Insurance Company to advance defense costs to former directors and officers of Westernbank of Puerto Rico, who find themselves in the cross-hairs of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation ("FDIC," for easy reading).1 Chartis appeals.
