In July 2006, Joseph Buechel was incarcerated at FCI-Greenville, a federal correctional institution in Greenville, Illinois. Buechel contracted Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus, known as MRSA, which is a type of staph infection resistant to certain antibiotics.
