A jury convicted Franchie Farmer of armed bank robbery in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 2113(a), (d), and 2, as well as use of a firearm during a crime of violence in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 924(c)(1)(A)(ii). Several days after the trial, an alternate juror contacted Farmer's counsel and said that other jurors had made statements during the prosecution's case indicating that they had discussed...
