Appellant José Manuel Zavala-Martí ("Zavala") challenges the life sentence he received for his role in a large-scale drug operation that sold heroin, crack, cocaine, and marijuana at a public housing project in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico. The second of forty-seven defendants charged in a ten-count superseding indictment, Zavala pled guilty at the end of the first day of testimony.
