In 2001, John Asare Boadi, a Ghanian national that remained in the United States past his visa's authorization, obtained conditional permanent resident status by marrying a U.S. citizen. Two years later, he petitioned the Department of Homeland Security ("DHS") to remove the condition on his status, but the subsequent DHS interview revealed Boadi's marriage appeared to be a ploy to obtain permanent resident status. DHS initiated removal proceedings...
