In 1983, Jose Matamoros was sentenced to ten years in prison, with a three-year special parole term to follow. When the ordinary parole term for his prison sentence finally expired in 2005, Matamoros' parole officer wrote him a letter and issued a Notice of Discharge which explained that Matamoros' parole term had expired and that he was no longer subject to supervision by the U.S. Parole Commission...
