August 15, 2012.

Attorney(s) appearing for the Case

Evelyn Baltodano-Sheehan , Wifredo A. Ferrer , Andrea G. Hoffman , Cristina V. Maxwell , Lisa Tobin Rubio , Stephen Schlessinger , Anne Ruth Schultz , U.S. Attorney's Office, Miami, FL, for Plaintiff-Appellee.

Israel Jose Encinosa (Court-Appointed), Israel Jose Encinosa, Miami, FL, for Defendant-Appellant.

Before WILSON, PRYOR and MARTIN, Circuit Judges.

MARTIN, Circuit Judge:

Defendant-Appellant James Mathurin was convicted of a number of armed robbery and weapons charges. These convictions resulted from a five-month-long crime spree in Miami-Dade County that took place when Mr. Mathurin was seventeen-years-old. On appeal, Mr. Mathurin challenges his convictions on a number of grounds, one of which is that the government violated his rights under the Speedy Trial Act, 18 U.S.C. § 3161 et seq.
