The Closed Maximum Security Unit at Illinois's Tamms Correctional Center is a high-security "supermax" prison. In a previous appeal by several plaintiffs seeking to represent a class of inmates incarcerated at Tamms, we reversed the dismissal of a due-process claim challenging the procedures by which the Illinois Department of Corrections ("IDOC") assigns inmates to the prison.
