Yan Lin left her home in China's Fujian province to seek asylum in the United States based on allegations that family-planning authorities forced her to have an abortion. An immigration judge ("IJ") denied the application, concluding that, although Lin credibly testified to having an abortion, she failed to establish that it was involuntary.
