John Pilati appeals his convictions and sentences for five counts of deprivation of civil rights while acting under color of law, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 242. Pilati raises several issues on appeal, only one of which is preserved—whether the magistrate judge erred in requiring him to register as a sex offender under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act, 42 U.S.C. § 16901 et seq.
