Daniel Doyle suffered injuries while he was a passenger on a boat owned and operated by Leland Graske. Doyle brought an action in Nebraska state court, claiming that Graske was negligent in his operation of the boat. Graske removed the case to federal district court, invoking admiralty jurisdiction.
