Two days before the plaintiff Vreni Büchel-Ruegsegger's husband died in Switzerland, he transferred 200,000 Swiss francs to their son, John Büchel, who lives in Wisconsin. A Swiss court concluded that the husband's estate was entitled to 150,000 of those Swiss francs. When John refused to remit the money, the plaintiff filed suit against him in federal court in Wisconsin. The district court concluded that the son's refusal to pay violated...
