After police officers found a Titan .25 caliber semi-automatic handgun in his rental vehicle during a consensual search following a traffic stop, Alphonso Barnum was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, a violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 922(g)(1) and 924(a)(2). Barnum moved to suppress the evidence that police seized, challenging the legality of the traffic stop and alleging that his consent to search his rental vehicle...
