HARTZ, Circuit Judge.

Charles E. Caldwell Jr. was convicted on three counts of using wire communications in similar schemes to defraud mortgage lenders. See 18 U.S.C. § 1343 (wire-fraud statute). The charges arose out of his role as a mortgage broker on loans for three homes while he worked for a business called United Lending. By providing false and incomplete information to the lenders, each purchaser obtained a loan for more than the home's sale price...
