This case arises from the warrantless search of a hotel room. Based on evidence seized during the search, Billy R. Mercer, Jr. (Defendant) was charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and one count of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime.
