Brian Billups was convicted of a drug crime and sentenced as a career offender under U.S.S.G. § 4B1.1(a), based in part on a prior Wisconsin felony conviction for false imprisonment. The career offender designation increased Billups's total offense level and resulted in an advisory guidelines imprisonment range of 151-188 months.
