The defendant-appellant, Michael R. Smith ("Smith"), was convicted following a jury trial in the Superior Court, of Felony Murder, Murder in the Second Degree, Robbery in the First Degree (two counts), Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Felony ("PFDCF") (four counts) and Conspiracy in the Second Degree.1 Smith was sentenced to life imprisonment plus an additional 142 years of incarceration.
