A jury convicted appellant Brian Copeland of one count of first-degree sexual abuse with force.1 Appellant later filed a motion for relief under D.C.Code § 23-110 (2001), alleging that he was denied the effective assistance of counsel. Judge Epstein denied the motion without a hearing.
