SULLIVAN, J.
The defendant, Jarl Jungnelius, appeals from the judgment of the trial court dissolving his marriage to the plaintiff, Annette Jungnelius, and awarding her alimony. On appeal, the defendant claims that the court (1) improperly determined that it had subject matter jurisdiction and (2) abused its discretion with respect to the alimony award.
