The defendant, Jeffrey Davis, appeals from the trial court's order, following a pretrial hearing, that he be involuntarily medicated to render him competent to stand trial. On appeal, the defendant claims that the court improperly found that his alleged violation of General Statutes § 54-252 was serious enough to give the government an important interest in requiring that he be medicated so that he would be competent to stand trial.
