Richard LEWIS v. COMMISSIONER OF CORRECTION.

Appellate Court of Connecticut.

Decided June 15, 2010.

Attorney(s) appearing for the Case

Temmy Ann Pieszak, chief of habeas corpus services, for the appellant (petitioner).

James A. Killen, senior assistant state's attorney, with whom, on the brief, were Michael Dearington, state's attorney, and Linda N. Howe, senior assistant state's attorney, for the appellee (respondent).

FLYNN, C.J., and ROBINSON and SULLIVAN, Js.

SULLIVAN, J.

The petitioner, Richard Lewis, appeals from the judgment of the habeas court dismissing his amended petition for a writ of habeas corpus. The petitioner claims on appeal that the court (1) improperly dismissed his petition when he failed to appear personally on the date scheduled for trial and (2) abused its discretion in denying his motion to open the judgment. We affirm the judgment of the habeas court.
