Cornelius, appeals from the judgment of conviction, rendered after a jury trial, of manslaughter in the second degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-56(a)(1) and carrying a pistol without a permit in violation of General Statutes § 29-35. On appeal, the defendant claims that the court failed to remain impartial and burdened his right to testify in his defense when it gave an improper jury instruction on consciousness...
