The defendant, Maurice Flanagan, appeals, following our grant of his petition for certification,1 from the judgment of the Appellate Court affirming the trial court's judgment of conviction, rendered after a jury trial, of conspiracy to commit assault in the first degree in violation of General Statutes §§ 53a-59(a)(1) and 53a-48(a).
