This case arises from an altercation between the defendant, Edan F. Calabrese, and his mother, Maureen Calabrese. The defendant appeals from the judgment of conviction, rendered after a jury found him guilty of assault of an elderly person in the third degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-61a(a)(1),1 burglary in the second degree in violation of General Statutes (Rev. to 2005) § 53a-102 (a)(1)
