The petitioner, Richard Lapointe, appeals from the judgment of the habeas court dismissing his second petition for a writ of habeas corpus. In this appeal, the petitioner claims that the court improperly dismissed his claims that his first habeas counsel was ineffective in failing to recognize or to offer proof regarding (1) the state's suppression of exculpatory evidence and (2) the ineffective assistance of criminal trial counsel.
