Defendant, Virginia Elaine Walker, pled guilty to felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance, but judgment and sentence were deferred for two years. Within that time, the People applied for revocation of the deferment, but did not notify defendant or her appointed counsel of a hearing on the matter for more than six years.
