This litigation involves a foiled attempt to foreclose on plaintiff Barbara Freiberg's property in order to collect a $2,310 debt that was incurred in 1993. The deed of trust that secured the property was executed without Freiberg's knowledge by her then ex-husband in violation of a family court order, in order to bail his girlfriend out of jail.
