A jury convicted Pedro Avina (defendant) of second degree murder (count 1) (Pen. Code, § 187)1 and two counts of attempted murder (counts 2 and 3) (§§ 664/187, subd. (a)). The jury found true with respect to all counts that defendant personally and intentionally discharged a firearm causing great bodily injury or death within the meaning of section 12022.53, subdivision (d).
